Our Story

How it all started...

Kingman Christian Church began as a dream.  A group of people who identified with the Restoration Movement desired to plant a "Christian Church" in Kingman. After much hard work, on June 4th, 1972 the church was officially founded. The original charter expressed the desire of these people. They wanted to be "an organization that held and used the New Testament as its one and only rule of faith and practice" and believed its purpose was "to carry out the Commands of Christ;...to preach the simple and entire Gospel of Pardon, Christian Life and Christian Duty at home and abroad; to encourage and admonish each other to mutual edification and Christ-likeness; and to lend...individual and organized aid and support to all moral and civic betterment."

Expanding the vision...

Today we continue to identify as a church that uses and adheres to the New Testament as our one and only rule of faith and practice, and we continue to strive to uphold the original purpose in an ever changing culture. Our desire is to be a light unto the residents of Kingman and beyond, and, therefore, we continue to seek God, asking Him to guide and lead us. We ask Him to help us find and/or create opportunities to form relationships with people in our community through service. Jesus knew that when people's needs are met and  realize they are loved they are more receptive to the life changing message of the Gospel.

Where we are headed...

We have come to realize that the culture has changed. Whereas at one time people were willing to come to the church building that is no longer the case. We must go where the people are. Along with encouraging growth and relationship with Jesus within the church we have now begun to focus on finding opportunities to reach out into the community with love. We have worked with the Department of Child Safety and taken part in their events for foster kids and parents. We sponsored a girl's softball team (We don't just provide financially but our members go to the games to encourage the girls as they play). We have opened our building to various groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous , Narcotics Anonymous and Weight Watchers. It is important to us to find ways to partner with and form relationship with our community. Though we seek to meet various needs it is our hope that we will be able to help people find provision to the most important need: SALVATION.
